A Mindful Summer

Sunday, July 16, 2017

Looking for something different, yet so beneficial, for individuals and families this summer? Check out these great books on mindfulness!

Mindfulness, through brain research, has been proven to be beneficial for relaxation, stress reduction, improving emotional intelligence (reading and regulating your own emotions feelings, as well as those of others), focused attention, empathy, and increased happiness. And these skills can be taught and improved through mindfulness.

Resources I know personally and highly recommend:
Sitting Still Like a Frog: Mindfulness Exercises for Kids (and Their Parents) by Eline Snel
Search Inside Yourself: The Unexpected Path to Achieve Success, Happiness (and World Peace) by Chen-Meng Tan
Joy on Demand: The Art of Discovering the Happiness Within   by Chen-Meng Tan (Chen-Meng Tan, a past engineer at Google, has researched these skills and has been teaching them to Google employees for the last 10 years, with tremendous results.)
